Grant funding available for In Home Care sector in early learning
The Albanese Labor Government has launched a new grant opportunity to support In Home Care services in early learning.
In Home Care is an important form of approved Child Care Subsidy care where an educator provides care in a child's home.
In Home Care is available to families who can't access other types of approved care, such as families with complex needs including medical conditions, those who are geographically isolated, or those working non-standard hours.
The In Home Care Sustainability Support grant will provide up to $5 million to assist existing services with their ongoing operational costs and support financial viability.
The one-off grant recognises the current financial pressures facing services and will help ensure families can continue to access flexible, quality early childhood education and care.
Eligible services need to apply for funding. The grant funding will be delivered by the end of June 2026.

Quotes attributable to Minister for Early Childhood Education Jess Walsh:
“Quality early learning helps children develop the social, emotional and learning skills that open doors to school and life.
“I know that In Home Care is important to the around 800 families who use it and who, for a range of reasons, can’t participate in centre-based care.
“This grant will mean providers can keep delivering quality care for these families.”
